Burning Truth, page 8
So Joey undid the remainder of the buttons, pulling the flaps out of his jeans and revealed his thick dark pelt. Ellis whistled his approval. “Wow,” he said, “that’s might impressive.”
Ellis’s shutter snapped away, and he gave Joey further instructions on how to move and in which direction, and as he listened, Joey began to feel more comfortable. He slid the shirt off one shoulder, then another, and at one point he slid a hand across his chest. Ellis told him to give him more, and at last Joey shucked off his shirt entirely, revealing his full torso, his thick, meaty frame, the carpet that coated him. Joey started to feel the rush of heat to his crotch again.
“Shit, I come up to the mountains, what do I find but Paul Bunyan himself.”
Joey grinned, grabbing at his crotch. “You want to see my axe?”
“Perhaps later,” Ellis said, “for now, let’s keep this a family project.”
“I think we’re already past that,” Nick said, “Joey could scare little kids with all that fur.”
“Didn’t scare you, did it Nick?”
“I’m no boy,” he said.
“Okay, men, keep it between your legs,” he said, snapping a few last shots. “Okay, think I’ve got some great shots here, but of course they’re just preliminary. I’ll be looking at the angle of the light at this time of day, how much the vegetation distracts…and while I’m at doing all that I’ll get to enjoy my subject as well. Joey, you were a natural, once you took your shirt off.”
“Yes, Joey’s rather good at removing his clothes,” Nick said.
“Hmm, perhaps later he can show me how good,” Ellis said, waving off his remark with a laugh that didn’t sound as innocent as his previous few. Joey stole a look at Nick, who appeared none too happy about Ellis’s constant flirting. But that’s all it was, the twinky photographer with the round glasses was hardly his type, he’d probably crush him with the weight of his body, split him in two with his cock. So what the hell was Nick getting so uppity about suddenly?
“Come on, I’ve got to get back to the station,” Nick said. “Put your shirt on, Joey.”
“Something he’s never said to me before, by the way,” Joey said, with a sly wink at Ellis.
The three men returned to the Jeep, and soon Nick pulled out, driving them back toward the firehouse, silent once again. Joey ran a hand across his face, frustration over Nick’s attitude consuming him. He’d always been wary of Joey’s rampant sexuality; it wasn’t Joey’s fault he had a healthy sex drive, and that he wasn’t satisfied until he could fulfill it, repeatedly. And just a few hours ago he’d been close to having Nick back in his arms, only to now feel a return of that distance that not even his large cock could fill.
Nick parked next to Joey’s Mustang, got out and started back toward the brick building.
“Hey, Nick, come on, talk to me.”
Nick turned around and said, “If you want to fuck him, Joey, just do it.”
“He’s the one making advances, and it’s all harmless fun.”
“Nothing is harmless with you, Joey.”
And then he stormed away, leaving both Ellis and Joey alone, the remark dancing around them, like a taunt…a dare.
“I gotta go, I’ve got an appointment,” Joey said.
“Shame,” Ellis said. “I was hoping to get to know you better.”
This guy wasn’t subtle. “Can I give you a lift somewhere?”
“My motel, it’s right next door to that awful bar.”
“The Highway 50,” Joey said, feeling temptation draw him in. It’s not that he found Ellis unattractive, because he was cute and his personality had some bite to it, but that didn’t mean he was going to let Nick’s spat drive him into the man’s room, and into his ass.
“Sure, I can drive you,” he said, “But I can’t stay.”
Ellis nodded. “Sure, I understand, don’t want to make things difficult for you.”
“He’s the one doing that, not me.”
“Shame,” Ellis repeated, and Joey wasn’t sure what he thought required such a statement.
As he slipped into the driver’s seat of the Mustang, Ellis slid in beside him. Joey gunned the engine, reached for the stick shift.
“That’s no fair, you’ve got one to play with and I don’t.”
Joey stopped, stared at the man, at the serious, expectant expression on his face. Was Ellis suggesting what Joey thought he was? He felt his throat grow dry, almost as though all the fluid from his body went rushing to his cock. The shaft filled, it thickened, and it pressed hard against his jeans, this time practically begging for release. He’d been denied once already, but he knew a second time wasn’t an option.
“Not here,” Joey said.
Ellis understood and let Joey pull out of the parking lot. Joey drove with single-minded determination to the Highway 50 Motel just a few blocks away, and with his cock throbbing inside his jeans, filled as much with come as with anticipation, he pulled into the lot and parked before Room 9, just as Ellis had instructed him.
“We’re here.”
“Sure you don’t want to come in?” Ellis asked.
“Thought you just wanted to play with my stick shift.”
Ellis understood what needed to be done. He began to unzip Joey’s jeans, pushing them down around thick, hairy legs until his cock had enough room to pop up. Its tip pulsed, leaking already. In the tight confines of the small Mustang his cock looked huge, even bigger than it was. Luckily tinted windows kept anyone from seeing inside.
“Nice axe,” Ellis said.
Joey just laughed, only to have his sound quickly replaced by a groan. Ellis had just gone down on him, and he was sucking that thick pole with the same enthusiasm he showed to taking pictures. Joey helped, thrusting his hips up, and he heard the gagging noise come from Ellis. But he didn’t stop, neither of them did. Ellis was damn good, talented at giving blow jobs as he took full command of the shaft, sliding his mouth up and down it, licking it, diving down as far as he could, his lips tasting the thick bush that swarmed around the base of the mighty shaft.
Ellis lifted his head, grinned as spittle stretched between the cock and his mouth. “Shit, I can’t believe how big you are…” he said, and suddenly his fingers were reaching for the buttons of Joey shirt, undoing them, revealing the thick mat of hair coating his powerful chest. “Fucking hairy beast, that’s what you are.”
His fingers dug into the thick fur as his mouth dove back onto the hungry cock.
He grabbed, and he sucked. He sucked harder, harder still, and Joey tried to hold off as long as he could. As much as he enjoyed his orgasms, the way this guy’’s lips held onto his shaft it was almost too good to let rip. But nature found its way, and he felt his balls tighten and the rush of climax shoot through him. He cried out as his hand grabbed Ellis’s head, locking him in tight, making sure he didn’t pull up. He wanted Ellis to taste him, to drink him down, and as he pumped gobs of pent-up come, Ellis’s fingers gripped at his chest hair even harder, and that only made his cock twitch more, a burst, another, each drop hitting the back of Ellis’s throat. At last Joey felt his cock drained, Ellis having sucked him dry.
He pulled up at last, wiping his mouth of come, but not of his smile.
“Something told me you needed that,” he said. “And that you weren’t going to get any satisfaction from Nick.”
Joey looked through the tinted glass, his view cloudy, and said, “I’m not sure I’ll ever get anything again from Nick.”
“In that case, Joey, I look forward to our next get together and further exploring your magnificently hairy body,” he said before getting out of the car.
Joey was suddenly alone and feeling ridiculous. His shirt undone, his pants down around his ankles, he looked down and saw that his cock had grown flaccid, mirroring his own mood. If he and Nick had had any chance at a reconciliation, he was pretty sure he’d blown it when he’d blew his load inside Ellis’s mouth.
Chapter Seven
Trent
“Ma, I think you should go home and rest.”
“I’ve done nothing but rest for two weeks. I want to see the world again.”
“You really think Shiner’s Diner is representative of that?”
“In White Pine, yes, it’s our crossroads of the world. And besides, you said you wanted to talk, which I’ve sensed since you came back. Best to get it out in the open, whatever it is.”
Trent tossed Angel a look and the gaze he received back said, “I told you so.”
Turned out, mother knows best, because as Trent, Angel, and Trudy, supported by crutches, entered the small downtown diner, the place was buzzing with activity. Local gossip was first on the menu, with cups of coffee offered up as a side dish. As the three of them made their way inside, a few friendly folks approached Trudy and told her how well she was looking. Some of her friends had visited at the hospital her earlier on, when she still had that bruise on her head that caused her concussion. That was all healed, she no longer required traction, and as she was beginning to get cranky, the doctors released her to her son’s care.
From behind the counter came the owner of Shiner’s, Fred Shiner, and he moved a few chairs out of the way, so Trudy could easily maneuver with her crutches. Angel settled next to her, and Trent opposite them both. In seconds steaming cups of coffee were set before them, not even having had to ask. That’s how the service was at Shiner’s, it’s what everyone came for. Well, that and rumor and gossip and innuendo.
Everyone was talking about the latest edition of the Gazette that had been published this morning, which Trent had yet to see. The local ladies were giving him an earful from the booth behind them.
“Did you see this photograph Kent put on the front page? Made me buy three copies.”
“Humph. I thought it was a family publication. Totally inappropriate.”
“And he’s not even one of ours…not really. From Honor Hills, it figures.”
“I don’t know, I think it’s kind of hot.”
These were four gabbing women at the neighboring table and at last they waved at Trudy. “Trudy, settled this for us, we’re deadlocked at two to two. Sexy, or not?”
With that the woman, who still had her morning curlers in her hair despite it being two in the afternoon, thrust the newspaper in their direction. Trent took hold of it and gazed at the front-page photograph that had the women in such frenzy. The bold headline read: SPRING HAS ARRIVED, FIRST BEAR SIGHTING OF SEASON. He laughed aloud, showed it to a curious, eventually amused Angel before handing it over to his mother.
“That’s Joey Silva,” Trudy said. “I remember him from when he came here this winter as acting chief or whatever title he had. He and that handsome Nick Lynch came by the house as part of their fire prevention instruction. Not that I needed much, being the wife of a fire chief all those years. Though I must admit Mr. Silva didn’t show up looking like that. My goodness he’s quite the specimen.”
“Well, Trudy? Spill.”
“He’s certainly a looker. I just love a man with a beard,” she informed the girls.
“Ugh, he’s a beast, just repulsive,” prattled on the offended woman, “and that photograph is just not appropriate to publish on the front page of a small town newspaper for all to see. We don’t do…pornography in White Pine.”
Trent stole another look at the photograph, his gaze lingering. It showed Joey Silva with his shirt fully unbuttoned, the flaps opened to reveal a swath of black hair that coated his chest and flat belly, all while leaning against the railing at the lip of the bridge; on his bearded face he wore a seductive smile. The accompanying article mentioned the firefighters’ calendar and how this was a sample from the first photo shoot taken the other day.
As far as Trent was concerned, Joey looked just fine, but of course he liked his men on the furry side and for a moment he raised his eyes and settled them on his sexy Angel, who sipped at his coffee, the cup mostly hiding his goatee. When he set it down, Trent could see his open shirt and the thick ruff of silky dark hair curling out. His gold chain lay against the thicket like a babe in a protective forest.
“Oh, Tilda, I don’t know what’s got your panties in a bunch, not liked he’s naked,” Trudy said.
The woman wasn’t to be appeased. “Boys, what do you think? You’re gay, right? Aren’t you supposed to like them all smooth and…what’s the term…”
“Metrosexual,” said one of the other ladies.
“No, I think they call them twinks.”
Trent smiled at their attempt to be current, even if their language was out of date by a few years. “Actually, I like it, it’s sexy. He’s very manly.”
“Humph. What about you…Angel, right?”
“That’s me,” Angel said, “and I’d be quite the hypocrite if I objected to a hairy chest.”
Tilda’s eyes narrowed, staring at Angel for a long moment, as though she were peering inside his open shirt to see just what he had to offer. She huffed again and then turned back in disgust to her group, proclaiming they were no help at all.
“Heathens, all of you,” she proclaimed. “If that’s supposed to be an example of what the calendar will contain, then I don’t care how good a cause it’s for, I’ll have no part of it.”
“Actually, I’ll be featured in the calendar, too,” Trent said, “And if it makes you feel any better, I’m smooth as a baby. But I will most likely be holding a hose.”
“Trent!” his mother admonished, but with a slight curl of amusement to her lip.
His comment didn’t register with Trudy, nor did it satisfy her outrage. She left the paper with them, and the image of the near-shirtless Joey stared up at them as the waiter came by and took their lunch order. Trent kept sneaking glances at it. Angel’s chest might be covered with a thick, silky coat and a sexy trail down the center of his six pack, but Joey Silva was nothing short of bear-like. You could lose yourself in his dark pelt and never find your way back.
Trent felt a rush of heat in his loins and guiltily he wished his mother were back in her room at the hospital so he could be alone with Angel back at the house, ripping off his shirt. He was suddenly turned on and he wanted his own hairy lover to do him in whatever room they hadn’t yet explored, or hell, on the steps or in the car. He felt his face go flush.
“Trent, are you okay?” Trudy asked.
“What…oh yeah, I’m fine. Think I’m just starved. I missed breakfast.”
Their burgers arrived just in time, but as Trent dipped his French fries in ketchup, he saw the amused look on Angel’s face. A knowing, bright smile flashed, meaning he knew just what Trent had been thinking, and his eyes danced with the promise of what would happen between them later. Except it wouldn’t, not the way Trent wanted it, hard and loud and urgent, not with his mother living back at the house.
But this lunch wasn’t about just getting her out and about, it was the first real chance they had to talk without nurses interrupting or friends stopping by for a pop-in visit. Trent supposed they could have had this talk once they got home, but Angel had convinced him a public place was a more suitable place. “She won’t be able to over-react,” he had said on the way to pick up Trudy.
“How’s your burger, Ma?”
“It’s fine, quit stalling. You said you wanted to talk to me, so talk.”
“Angel and I have…we have news.”
She set down her burger, wiping her hands on a napkin. “You’re leaving,” she said.
“Ma, we just got back.”
“Yes, and now that I’m out of the hospital, it’s back to your grand adventure.”
“Mrs. Rodgers, it’s not like that,” Angel said.
“He’s so polite,” Trudy said, “even after I’ve told him to call my Trudy.”
“Well, what if he calls you Ma, like I do.”
Trudy opened her mouth to say something and either she swallowed her words or she did not have them to begin with. She clammed up, but her eyes were suddenly lit with anticipation, a tear watering the corner. “Do you mean…”
“Ssshh,” Trent said, “don’t want old battle-axe Tilda to get up in arms.”
“Let me worry about her and her puritanical ways. Is it what I think it is?”
“Angel proposed, and I accepted.”
“Oh my Lord, I’d get up and hug you both but this damn leg…”
“It’s okay, Ma, better not to make a scene.”
“Being in love and wanting to express it is nothing to be ashamed of, period.”
Trent smiled and leaned in, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Angel did the same, taking the other side, and when they parted that tear had escaped and was slipping down Trudy’s cheek.
“So…oh my, I have so many questions. When, where…and what about after?”
“Where is here, in White Pine,” Trent said, “I already talked to Chief O’Connell and he’s agreed to perform the ceremony. Ma, we were coming back anyway to tell you the good news and then we get word of your accident.”
“And when?”
“Just as soon as you can get that cast off and walk me down the aisle.”
Trudy looked as though she was going to unleash the waterworks, and she dabbed at her eyes with a napkin. “And what happens after the wedding? Where will you two live, work….oh don’t tell me you’re planning on leaving again. Angel, dear, I know you don’t like to stay too long in one place…”
“Fear not, Mrs. Rodgers…”
“No more Mrs., and no Trudy either. It’s Ma, from now until forever.”
“Thank you, I’m honored,” Angel said. “We are planning to settle in White Pine. Trent is going to volunteer at the department until a full-time position opens up, and as for me, I have a bit of money saved from my family inheritance. We’ll be fine.”
“Well, sounds like you boys have it all worked out.”
“All we needed was your blessing,” Trent said.
“As if I could deny my lone son’s happiness,” she said, and then let out a sharp whoop that caught the attention of everyone in the diner. “Hey girls, you think you’ve got your knickers in bunch now, wait till you hear the good news my boys have to share with everyone. White Pine is going to have its very first gay wedding!”
