Pressing her fist to her mouth, she kept running. He knew things, things beyond this life, and so did she.

The sound she waited for came. Behind her, heavy work boots thundering over the pavement.

She turned off the sidewalk, cut down an alley. He couldn’t know this town as well as she did. She hoped his beard still burned and that the wind of his passage made it blaze on his face. Fucker.

Practice led her to a fire escape without thought. She pulled it down and scrambled up the rungs, hands burning on the metal in her haste.

She raced over the roof and leaped before she could think. Landed with a jarring thud on the next building.

Yes! She knew she could do it.

But could she outrun a god hell-bent on taking her back to another realm, even if she was a god herself?

  She’d have to find out.

Sucking in a breath, she made the next leap. Suspended in the space between buildings, laundry flapping below, dawn kissing the chimneys, birds lining up on the wires and singing—She pushed, and landed halfway across the next roof. Her legs didn’t ache. Power surged through her.

  Okay, she wasn’t human.

He cracked her world, damn him.

And she still felt him inside her.

Ignoring the way his cock felt like it was lodged up to her heart, she made the final leap to her building. Rose high like flying, exhilarated in the freedom of the air. Could she have wings?

Not right now. Get inside. Maybe he wouldn’t be able to find her. With an effort, she forced herself to stop the delightful hovering. Focused on relaxing her knees, landed in a crouch, absorbing the shock. Better.

Did gods have make-up sex? Maybe. If they did, they might split the planet. The roof gravel skidded under her boots as she rushed to the edge.

That was the wrong question. The question was what would she have to do to make sure she never saw him again?

She tucked escaping hair behind her ear and descended the fire escape to her studio.

This was fucked. He’d ruined everything. He knew who she was.

If she tried to escape him, she’d lose everything. Her scholarship, her dream of her education and her future, her vlog, her entire life as Sparks the Truth Teller.

Her breath whooshed out of her as she opened the window.

A weight dragged her stomach down. It was over. No matter what she did next, her life was gone.

The couch was made up for day time, and the dishes shined in the drainer. Corey yanked up his bright blue boxer briefs and turned to face her, sunlight highlighting his trim, well-muscled body and golden curls.

She jumped down, closed the window, and wiped the window grime on her jeans.

“I see that did not go well.” He cocked his head and eyed her head to toe. “I was expecting a smile.” He shrugged and took a breath that showed off his sculptural torso. “Well, we should meet officially.” He held out his hand. “Edrial, I’m—.”He said syllables as foreign as the wrecker’s god name.

  Her head split.

“No. No. Fuck, no.” She backed up and withdrew behind the curtain into her corner. She wished to hell she had a door to slam. This could not be happening. Not Corey, too.

  “Sparks?” Corey whispered.

“Leave me alone.” She slumped on the bed and shut her eyes.

“Let me know when you want to talk.”

“That will be never, traitor,” she said under her breath.

He was one of them. This just kept getting worse. Where could she possibly go?

  Nowhere.

The pounding footsteps and the banging knock on the door came as no surprise.

“Shh, you brute. Don’t wake up all the neighbors. Gently now. You’ve scared her.” Corey—whatever his name was—answered the door and spoke in a whisper.

“You’re right.” Erik’s whisper rumbled through the room.

  The door shut quietly.

The sound of their kiss sent more feelings roiling through her. She peeked around the edge of the curtain and watched Erik’s hand slip down and squeeze Corey’s cupid ass.

The thoughts that went through her mind created a torrent of anger, jealousy, and lust. If she pouted in her corner, would they fuck without her?

If they did, she was going to watch.

She sighed. There was something about Corey she’d trusted from the day she met him. If this mad situation was reversed, she’d want him to at least hear her out.

Sparks drew in a long breath. She’d listen.

She had a lot of questions. And her panties would be in major danger if they weren’t already wrecked. Hell, she needed a shower. Mm. Maybe they all did.

Perhaps, once they got through the ‘what the fuck are you guys doing to my life’ stuff, she’d be the filling in a man-hunk sandwich. Losing her virginity to a god was one thing, getting pierced by two gods at once... on the same day—well, that might prove she was superhuman.

She wouldn’t mind having that kind of proof. After she threw Erik against the wall a few times for wrecking everything.

A painful laugh sputtered out of her. He was her wrecking man.

  The End
