Nothing Special VI: His Hart's Command, page 17
part #6 of Nothing Special Series
“Yeah, real good.” Day smiled.
Free blinked. Okay. What’s with the compliments?
“Free. Come on man. We need your help, little buddy.” Ruxs winked.
“Little that,” Free flipped him off. “And I don’t know how you expect me to help. I can’t change Ivan’s mind.”
“Oh yes you can,” Steele murmured.
Free narrowed his eyes.
“Just need you to tap into that power, man.” Ruxs sleazily rubbed his palms together. “If he’s really happy in the morning…from… ya’ know…”
“The hell, Mark! You promised.” Green grabbed his partner from behind, holding him in a tight chokehold against his body. He scowled over Ruxs' shoulder, “Free. I want you to know that I had nothing to do with this and I completely disagree. What they’re all trying to do—”
“Yeah, yeah. Shut up Mr. Rodgers. We heard your opinion the whole way over here, okay,” Day bit at Green.
Free’s mouth fell open. “Are you trying to suggest that I manipulate him with—?”
“Of course not,” Tech hurried to say, then nervously looked to the rest of the team for backup. “Not ‘manipulate’. That’s such a nasty word to use.”
Free couldn’t believe them.
“You can take one for the team can’t you, Free?” Day pleaded. He lowered his voice conspiratorially, “We all know you got a forty-year-old virgin on your hands. So we like, literally. Need you to take it tonight…maybe hard at times…for the team.”
“Ugh,” Free choked in shock.
“DAY!” Green shouted.
“You’re impossible.” Free shoved his boss away and went back inside. No one stopped him as he slammed the door and engaged both locks after he did.
He leaned against it and laughed like crazy. He wasn’t about to tell his team that he was going to take it hard and in every position imaginable from the Captain…and it didn’t have a damn thing to do with any goddamn grounding.
Hart
He’d finished cleaning up their dinner dishes and placed the leftovers in the refrigerator. It’d been funny to listen to Free’s friends try to convince him to use sex on him. It was typical Day, and most likely his idea, since it was how he kept God wrapped around his little finger. Hart’s hands were in dishwater when Free came in. He walked up behind him and snaked his arms around his waist, tenderly kissing the back of his head.
Hart smiled. “You getting started on your sex plot already?”
Free balked, then pinched him hard in his side.
“I’m kidding.” Hart set the last clean glass into the drying rack and turned around with dripping hands. He let them dangle over Free’s shoulders as he leaned in for a kiss. The sound of water splattering onto the floor could be heard over Free’s soft whimpers. When he pulled away, he nipped at Free’s delicious lips one last time. “But I wouldn’t mind you attempting a sex plot.”
Free’s laugh sounded good in his home. Hart leaned in again, not able to get enough of those lips.
It was Free who finally had to bring them down and ease their mouths apart. He made a beautiful sight with his dark pupils, lips slick and plump from their kiss, those olive cheeks reddened from Hart’s beard. Free looked ready for loving. Hart wanted him just like that in his bed.
“My house is here.”
“I know. You wanna go check it out? Make sure everything is fine. I’d like to see it myself,” Hart said with their foreheads together.
“Okay.” Free smiled.
Hart stroked his thumb along that sweet bottom lip
“I wanna show you something I been working on, too.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Mmhmm. Inspired by you, actually.”
Hart’s tried not to preen like crazy and overreact.
“And I want you to use the first prototype.”
Prototype? What has this genius done? “Show me,” Hart said, his curiosity running wild.
He had to duck to enter the camper. Free hadn’t been lying about it being small. It was maybe thirty to thirty-two feet long, max. Steele had parked it close to the garage door on the left side and Hart still had plenty of room to get his truck out. The driver’s cab of the RV was nice and spacious. Inside had been completely gutted—except for the kitchen sink and a two-burner stove—and replaced with lab tables and one drafting table where maybe a dining area used to be. Computers, monitors, wires, tools, gadgets and systems were all around him. Holy shit. It looked as if Free could’ve operated a NASA launch from in there. Besides the queen-sized bed in the overhead compartment, the only furniture was two office chairs. His tech guru had turned his home into a computer lab.
“Seems weird, huh? You were expecting a nice entertainment center, sofas and window treatments. Not a lab. What type of person lives like this, huh? In a camper?” Free turned away sadly. “It’s easier to jump up and leave that way—no packing required—if I feel…unsafe.”
Hart hugged Free from behind like he’d done a moment ago. It’d felt amazing to him, so hopefully it did the same for Free. He whispered behind his ear. “None of this is weird. It’s who you are. And, maybe being parked here will make you feel safe, and you won’t have to leave again.”
Free nodded, accepting his comfort.
“And for the record…no. I wasn’t expecting a Martha Stewart mobile home, complete with window treatments. I was expecting to see you, baby. And all of this…screams you. I like it. A lot.”
Free laughed lightly, his shoulders easing down.
“Better.” Hart kissed his earlobe, “Now. Show me this idea that I inspired.”
Free’s demeanor went from somber to elation in seconds. It was a small comfort that he wasn’t the only one struggling with some insecurities in this relationship. Free wanted Hart to like all the parts of him. The good, the bad, the dangerous and the weird. It made Hart feel like he didn’t have to be the best at this relationship stuff. Free was winging it, too.
“Okay. Over here first.” Free sat in front of a low metal table littered with wires and thingamajigs. He pointed for Hart to take the other chair, “Come closer.”
He had no clue what he was staring at. Free put on some latex gloves and picked up what looked like a pair of extra-long tweezers. “This is my first prototype.”
“Awesome.” Hart inched closer, staring down at the narrow, oblong silicone-like object Free had placed on a glass dish. “What is it?”
Free smiled and gave him a little shrug. “I believe it’s the most advanced emergency communication device there is. Perfect for police, military, FBI, CIA, or whichever.”
“What’s it do?” Hart asked.
“Hopefully save a life.” Free explained, “The clear mold blends in with the skin, making it completely undetectable. Inside this slender gel pad is a complex network of cables that can detect and convey data. From the moment it’s attached to the skin, the red wires will sense the tiny electrical signals that are sent from the heart and communicate the person’s medical condition. Most importantly, it’s also wired with the process of trilateration. Meaning the high functioning GPS can literally pinpoint a person’s location.”
Hart crouched to try to get a better view, but the device was already small, then it had micro-wiring intricately woven inside.
“Here.” Free reached over their heads and pulled down a large magnifying glass.
“Thanks.” Hart laughed. “Okay. Now I see them. Wow! How the hell did you get those little tubes in there?”
Free clicked on a laptop nearby, rotating a digitalized diagram of an ear. “It wasn’t easy. I’ve been working on this for two months. If I want I can send off for the patent—in Tech’s name, of course, just like the others—since I have the prototype ready. I just need a name for it. Maybe I’ll call it The Heart Locator.”
A patent. Named after me. Hart’s chest was almost bursting. This was some real ground-breaking technology right there in front of him. In his driveway! A life-saving mechanism that could be used on their troops to help save their lives if they got separated from their squad or taken hostage. Well, I’ll be damned. And his boyfriend had made it.
“It has a waterproof adhesive backing that gets placed in the shell of the ear, not in the canal like other devices. And when it senses the pulse, it automatically activates, and transmits data to your designated outside source…in your case…that’d be me.”
Hart didn’t know what to say.
Free nibbled on his bottom lip. “At least while doing the trial run. Then you can transmit directly to your own command center.”
“I can’t believe you invented this. This is the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen. It can save lives, baby.” Hart rubbed his hand along Free’s back in encouragement. He should really be proud.
“Well, I hope it can.” Free opened an overhead cabinet and pulled out a fake ear. It was the appearance and size of a normal one, but it had a silky-textured coating on the outside. “This is similar to human skin on this ear model. I’m gonna show you how it works.”
Hart watched in fascination as Free connected a mini electrical cable to the bottom of the fake earlobe, to simulate a human-like pulse needed to activate the device, and transmit information back to his laptop. The minute Free sent the current, his computer immediately came alive with a bright red beacon blinking on a map. The map kept reducing until there was a live visual of Hart’s driveway… with Free’s camper sitting on it. Hart was so excited he could barely sit still. The cool-ass trick had all happened in seconds.
The next minute a faint smell of smoke reached his nose. He looked away from the monitor and saw the device was steaming and the ear sizzling and melting quickly. “Len!”
“Oh shit.” Free grabbed the long tweezers and peeled the—now brownish-tinged—silicone away from the singed ear and returned it to the dish. He yanked the magnifying glass over, frowning through the thick layers.
“Is it ruined?” Hart was afraid to hear the answer.
“No. Just the silicone. I have plenty of that. The inside mechanics are fine. There’s a safeguard around them.” Free smiled. “No problems.”
Hart touched his ear. “Um. I beg to differ.”
Free laughed that beautiful sound he was beginning to cherish. “Trust me. Minor little nothing. I’ll adjust those levels later. I’m trying to make it powerful enough to transmit from space, but I might have to limit it to Earth for right now.”
He’s a pure fucking genius. “Is it wrong that I want to throw you up there on that bed right now and do all kinds of things to you?”
“Absolutely not.” Free stood, leaving his invention. “Does my technical talk turn you on?”
“You turn me on.”
“Good,” Free murmured against his lips, before they were kissing again.
Hart reluctantly let those soft lips go, because there was still something weighing on his mind. “You were getting ready to say something to me earlier before you answered the door.” Hart stroked Free’s flushed cheek. “Care to finish now?”
“I do want to finish.” Free stroked Hart's beard, then gazed up at him. “Ivan, the moment I saw you, I knew you were going to be someone very special in my life. Whether it was work partners, friends, lovers, whatever. I just knew I wanted to be around you. I’ve never felt safer than when I’m with you.” Free touched Hart’s chest. “Even in a car chase. I was afraid, yeah because it was insane. I never wanted to fully experience those guys’ jobs like that. But I wasn’t crippled with fear like I can get. Like I used to get.”
Hart held him close.
“I wasn’t terrified because I knew you’d come. And when you couldn’t…even though you weren’t there. You have men and women on your team who care about you enough to break the rules, forget about protocol, threaten their jobs and mobilize without you to save the man that loves you. To save the only man that will love you as much as I love you.”
Hart inhaled deeply and closed his eyes. After so long. God, he’d waited so damn long.
“Look at me, Ivan.”
Hart hoped like hell he didn’t start weeping. He opened his eyes. His lashes felt moist. Everything Free said to him was always so heartfelt and warm, but when they were said in that slightly proper British lilt, he also made it sound so damn romantic. Like he was dreaming.
“I do. I love you. Already. And you may be wondering how, but you’ll just have to trust me and let me show you with time. I will be good to you. I promise. I’d never mistreat you. Ever. Because I couldn’t bear it if you mistreated me.”
“Never.” Hart squeezed him. “I’ll protect you with my life, Len.”
“I know.” Free smiled, then said it again, “I love you.”
Free
Free had grabbed the things he needed from his camper and put them into a small overnight bag. Most of the lights were off inside Hart’s house except for the warm glow beneath the door calling to him at the end of the hallway. He could hear Hart’s shower going, so he took his bag to the guest bath and got himself ready. It was awfully considerate for Hart to have a massaging shower head in the guest bath, because he needed it on his neck. He wouldn’t tell anyone just yet, but he was a little stiff from the chase and his knee ached from when he’d stumbled on the concrete.
He came out refreshed and squeaky clean in all the right places. He choose to stay comfortable in his boxers and a T-shirt. Free went to the fridge and grabbed two bottles of water then headed toward Hart’s bedroom. He was surprised to find his shower still running. Damn. Well, Hart did say that he just about groomed nightly. All that hair probably took some work to maintain. Free went ahead and made himself comfortable in Hart’s bed, again.
Hart emerged with a dark red towel draped around the back of his neck and one cinched tightly above his pubic bone. When he saw Free lying there, a slow, appreciative smile spread across his face.
“I could get used to that, right there,” Hart said throatily, walking to a tall oak dresser with his eyes still on Free.
“Me too,” Free replied. He had his hand down his boxers, but Hart couldn’t see what he was doing through the bulky comforter. He couldn’t help but touch himself while staring at Hart’s slick, wet chest. All that sexy hair lying there just pleading to be petted. Free reached lower and cupped his balls, trying to keep a straight face through the immense pleasure. Fuck. Hart’s dick bulged against the terry cloth material as he stole glances in his direction. Free was leaking while he watched back.
Hart pulled out a drawer and tossed a pair of shorts onto the bed.
Yeah. You won’t be needing those, Free thought as he stared at Hart’s hard ass through the towel and when he turned to him… oh god. So much man. And all that maleness would be pressing him into the mattress soon.
“The way you look at me…I don’t know how I ever doubted this.” Hart stood at the foot of the bed, watching him stroke himself and molest him with his eyes.
When did he walk over here?
Hart gripped one side of the towel around his neck and pulled, letting it slowly drag across his broad shoulders. He dropped it to the floor, still watching Free with those glacial blue eyes that shot shards of ice down his spine. When Hart reached for the comforter and dragged it down until it was at Free’s ankles, he didn’t stop him, he also didn’t stop massaging his balls. Hart’s breath hitched.
“Keep doing that,” Hart said huskily. “Just like that.”
Free ran his hand through his short hair, arching in ecstasy while doing exactly what Hart told him to. He tugged on his sac, just to the point of pain, moaning loudly. “Ivan. Don’t just stand there.”
“Keep going,” Hart commanded, then slowly undid the towel and let it fall to a heap at his feet. He was hung nicely, a thickness Free had dreamed about inside him last night. He stared in amazement at Hart’s confidence. He no longer doubted how Free felt about him, how he saw him, and how turned-on he was by him. There was no distrust. Hart could fully be who he was, with no judgment or abuse from someone who loved him unconditionally.
Free had to grip his cock, a thick bead of pre-come forming on the head. Just watching Hart made him want to come. Hart’s eyes were riveted to the end of his dick. He licked his lips and stroked his beard as if he were contemplating a delicacy. He crawled onto the bed, and paused to hover over his leaking slit.
“I want to do everything with you, Len, but…I might need some help.” Hart didn’t look embarrassed when he asked, completely confident that Free would be supportive.
Free leaned up on one elbow, and stroked Hart’s damp beard. “You did a nice job tonight. You look amazing.” And he smelled it, too. Free thought Hart’s aftershave must be laced with a touch of EroS, because it stirred his primal urges.
Hart smiled, then turned and tenderly kissed Free’s palm. Keeping his hand there, he guided Hart’s mouth to the head of his cock and stopped there. “You sure?”
“Yes. I’ve never been more sure.” Hart’s breath was warm against his skin.
“Anything you do will feel good,” Free panted.
Hart took his first swipe with his tongue across Free’s head and he fought not to jackknife and send them both flying off the bed. Hart groaned then licked again and again, each taste more courageous than the last, until he finally opened his mouth and sucked the head inside.
“Ohhhh,” Free whined. “Perfect.”
Hart went down more, hollowing his cheeks, his bottom teeth accidentally scraping his cap in the most stimulating way. Then that damn beard grazed over his sensitive sac, and Free knew this would be over in seconds if he didn’t stop. He wanted to come with Hart inside him. Hart sucked harder, his lips almost touching his pubic hair. When he had most of Free’s cock in his mouth, he gagged a bit and eased back, smiling proudly.
Free’s hand was still on his cheek. “You don’t have to go all the way down, love.” He coached, “Use your hand while you do it.”
Hart tightly fisted the base of his dick then dove for the head again. “Like this?”
“Ungh…yes,” Free barely managed. It was one thing to get a blow job from a random guy to get off, but it was whole other feeling to be with someone he truly cared for, someone he loved, for the first time. It amplified everything to another level. Hart moaned around his head, his teeth grazing him again, making delicious jolts of pain shoot through his sac. Fuck. “Stop…stop, damn. Please.”
